Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you visit Top-Down Arena (the "Site") and play our games. We designed the Site to work without accounts, so we do not ask for your name, email address, password or payment details.
Information stored on your device
The game saves a few small items in your browser’s local storage: the nickname you typed, your music on/off preference, and a random anonymous identifier that lets a friend reconnect to a private room after a page refresh. This information stays on your device. We do not receive it on our servers, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your site data in your browser settings.
Information from multiplayer
Multiplayer uses peer-to-peer WebRTC connections created with the open-source PeerJS library. To connect two players, a public signaling service (PeerJS Cloud) receives temporary connection identifiers and technical connection data. When you play against another person, your IP address is necessarily visible to that person’s browser, as with any direct peer-to-peer connection. Your nickname, game inputs, chat messages and, if you choose to use it, voice audio are sent directly to the other player. We do not record, store or monitor chat messages or voice audio. Voice chat starts only when you press the microphone button, and you can mute it at any time. Please do not use a nickname that contains personal information.
Server logs and hosting
The Site is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare and similar infrastructure providers may process standard technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and request time, to deliver the Site, keep it secure and protect it from abuse. They may also provide us with aggregated traffic statistics.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to display advertising on our content pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this Site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and other sites on the internet. We do not display ads during gameplay.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, visit policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google or a certified provider may appear before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time through that message.
Analytics
We do not run our own third-party analytics scripts inside the game. Aggregated traffic information may be available to us through Cloudflare and through Google AdSense reporting. If we add an analytics service in the future, we will describe it here before it is used.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will help resolve it. Parents and guardians can also manage ad personalization and cookies through browser settings.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not maintain user accounts or keep personal profiles, there is usually no personal data on our servers for us to delete or correct. You can clear stored data in your browser, block or delete cookies, and use the opt-out links above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to ask what information a business holds about you.
